Buggie's Birthday Cake

13 x 9" pan

2 cups sugar
½ cup butter, softened
2 eggs
2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 cup buttermilk
2 ½ cups flour, sifted
2 tsp. Soda
½ tsp. Salt
3/4 cup warm water
1 tsp. Vanilla

Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, one at a time and mix after each. Add cooled chocolate and buttermilk. Sift flour, soda and salt together. Add sifted ingredients and warm water, alternately, 1/4 cups water at a time. Add vanilla after flour is incorporated. Don't overbeat.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes (until sides pull away from pan and cake tester comes out clean).
