Taco Salad

1½ lbs. hamburger
1 ½ C. onion, diced
1 C. green peper, diced
3 buds garlic, diced
1 lb. Velveeta cheese
1 can tomatoes
1 large head lettuce
1 large pkg. of Fritos
2 large firm tomatoes
salt to taste

     Optional: 1 tsp. chili powder
                   1 can peeled green chilies

Cook hamburger, onions, green pepper and garlic in very small amount of oil until done. Season with salt and chili powder. In top of double boiler melt cheese and add canned tomatoes. (If desired add chilies here.) Pour cheese mixture over meat and vegetables, mix well. 6 servings.

Cut lettuce and fresh tomatoes into chunks and mix together. Crush Fritos

Layer the ingredients in bowl. Begin with lettuce and tomatoes. Top with crushed Fritos. Pour hot cheese and meat over all. Serve immediately.
