Caramels

Every Christmas we look forward to a tin of homemade caramels from Carolyn's sister Barb. They are scrumptious. Watch out for your fillings!

3 cups sugar
2 cups whipping cream
1 cup corn syrup, Karo light
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Boil until 250° degrees. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour into
buttered 8"x 8" pan. Cool and cube.
