Meat Dressing for Fowl
(turkey dressing)

This dressing is the Cayia - now Dean family traditional stuffing for holiday turkey dinners. It is traditionally mixed together in a large wooden chopping bowl and chopped and turned using an old fashioned chopping blade. The crumbs from homemade
bread are traditional.


2 pounds lean ground beef
2 to 3 onions
stuffing mix for 20 lb fowl or bread crumbs
thyme
butter
salt
sage, Optional
poultry seasoning, Optional

Cook beef well with a little water. Mix in chopping bowl with
onions, a good sized piece of butter and seasonings. [Thyme is the dominant seasoning; use generously to taste] Crumb bread into mixture.
