Les was born in Duluth, Minnesota, in 1953 and graduated from Duluth East High School in 1970. After graduating from UMD in 1976 with a major in Business Administration, Les worked as an account executive for the Utica Observer Dispatch and Daily Press. Les pledged Alpha Nu Omega in his Sophomore year and was President of the Active Chapter in his Senior year. He was a recipient of the Arrowhead Award for the school year 1975-1976.
Les was also a member of the Oriental Lodge No. 224, AF & AM of Utica, the Adirondack and Poland Long Rifle Club, and in Duluth was a member of the Glen Avon Presbyterian Church.
Les died in Utica, New York as a result of a motor vehicle-pedestrian accident in 1984.
