Orrin A. Mangseth

Orrin was a graduate of Greenway Coleraine High School and an excellent hockey player. He transferred from Itasca Community College to UMD where he received his B.S. in Business Education in 1965. Orrin served as an Alpha historian in 1963-1964. He was an active member of the Fraternity and a Brother, in the true meaning of the word. He was won of Alphas finest broomball players.

Subsequent to graduation at UMD, Orrin moved to teach school in Eagle River, Wisconsin. He received his Master's Degree in Business Education at the University of Wisconsin, Superior. Orrin was instrumental in developing high school hockey in the Eagle River region of Wisconsin. He served as the hockey coach for many, many years and also as the Athletic Director and Assistant Football coach. His efforts in the development of the local hockey program culminated in Northland Pines High School hockey team winning the 1983-1984 Wisconsin AA State High School Hockey championship.

Orrin had two sons - Jason and Derrick. He died of a severe brain hemorrhage in his home town of Eagle River, Wisconsin in February 1996. A great person, a brother, and a friend.
