In Memoriam...
"... and the light of Brotherhood shall burn throughout Eternity."
Robert S. "Scotty" Walton
Scotty, or more irreverently "Ball peen" was a stalwart member of the Alpha 1964 pledge class and a very active brother. Scotty was very active on campus, serving as freshman camp counselor, orientation leader, and assistant for many of the traditional oncampus dances and other events.
He was a block of granite on the 1960's Alpha football teams and a legend in broomball with his heavily-taped anvil-type weight broom on defense. He served as an anchor on defense for several winning Alpha broomball teams. Bob graduated with a BA in Political Science.
He was a combat veteran of Vietnam and for many years owned Walton designs, a hand-crafted wooden toy company based in Duluth. Bob died in a motorcycle accident at Glacier National Park, where he worked in 1985.
