Preliminary sketch showing the performance space, a tent. We produced this
show in a tent located on the outskirts of campus. It was an incredable
expereince working with this script by Kopit in an outdoor environment.
The tent had a life that supported the spiritual theme of the play.
I illustrated the design on a brown mat board representing the color of
the canvas tent. The various structures around the perimeter of the stage
would transform into a number of scenes. The bural racks were used as lighting
instrument locations.
The wild west show must appear into the performance space rapidly. The
banner unfurlled from the tents center poll. Several light bulbs glowed
ftom there hiding places to help transform the space.
