Evaluation:
  One Mid-term Exam worth 35 % of the total grade for the semester. One Final Exam worth 35 % of the total grade for the semester. Research Notebook worth 30% of the total grade for the semester.  
  All examinations will be in the form of short answer questions with some essay and visual slide identification. Written as well as illustration / drawn answers will be encouraged for certain test questions during the evaluation process.  
GRADES
Research Notebook:
  Each student will be assigned a given period style in which they will be required to prepare a collection of materials, both written and visual. These materials will be collected as part of a complete research notebook produced by the entire class. The product of all student research activities will be distributed to all class members at the conclusion of each review period, before an examination. Each student will be required to verbally present their research document to the class during the review session.  
  The notebook will be divided in the following sections: Architectural Characteristics: identify six elements that are indicative to the genre. Summarize the development of the architecture style. Clothing Characteristics: Identify at least six major clothing silhouettes for both male and female that are indicative to the genre. Summarize the development of the silhouette. Visual Arts: identify the major motifs that are predominate in the genre. Conclusion: Discussion of the evolution of the period, itÕs beginning, itÕs glory, and to itÕs decline. Appendix: Annotated Bibliography
