  Focus of Course:
This practical course will focus on major painting mediums, styles of illustration and techniques utilized in the visual presentation of scenic, costume and lighting designs for the theatre. The following mediums will be explored: graphite - pencil, charcoal, ink, watercolor pencils, watercolor painting, ink wash, pastels, airbrush, acrylics maybe, etc.
 
  Method of Teaching and Evaluation:
The course will be taught through lecture / demonstration and slide presentation with individual projects and lab work. Evaluation will be based on participation in classroom activities and projects completed in a timely fashion.
 
 
Materials Required:  
+ White Sketch Pad, 14" x 17" + Pencils, graphite, soft (HB, 4B)
Watercolor paper, medium Pens, markers
+ Tracing paper, light and heavy stock Watercolors: tubes, cakes, liquid
Illustration board, mat board + Misc. support equipment
Color tissue / magazine clip art Inks, dyes, acrylics maybe
+ Graphite paper, transfer pattern paper + Charcoal, pastels
+ Spray Fix, danger + Erasers, various styles
+ these materials should be acquired immediately
