| PRAGUE QUADRENNIAL (PQ) | ||
| PQ is one of the world's most prestigious theatre art competitions. USITT participation showcases achievement in American design. Medals are awarded for overall excellence and in theme and individual designer categories. With over 40 nations represented, the 1987 USITT exhibit was awarded the Golden Triga, PQ's highest award. The 1991 exhibit received the gold medal for theme and in 1995, Gabriel Berry received the first US individual medal for costume design. | ||
| This exhibit is sponsored by the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), the world's largest organization of theatre designers, technicians, educators, manufacturers and suppliers. USITT, along with Samuel Scripps, has supplied the organizational structure and the majority of the financial resources. We are all indebted to the members and Board of Directors of USITT for this support. The exhibit is being constructed in the scenery shops of the Ohio State University and their tech and design students will also help us with the exhibit setup in Prague. | ||
