Each section of CLA 1001 meets twice a week, the first time with an instructor and the second time with an undergraduate teaching assistant, and the course continues for the first eight weeks of fall semester; then there are two follow-up sessions with your teaching assistant later in the semester. The purpose is to foster a successful adaptation to college life at UMD and to prepare students to make good decisions as they proceed with their college career.
