1. One key aspect of the church/sect distinction has to do with the relationship between a religious organization and the culture in which it functions. Churches are viewed as more accomodated to the culture of the larger society in which they operate; sects are viewed as maintaining more of an opposition to the larger culture. What are the ways in which Willow Creek Church accomodates and even affirms American culture?

2. The minister being interviewed is clearly very proud of Willow Creek Church, and at one point, he says: "Could we really be wrong if we're able to do something like this?" What is your reaction to his question?
