This course counts toward a major or a minor in sociology or psychology (or both). We will be dealing especially with sociological social psychology, mainly in the theoretical tradition known as symbolic interactionism, We will also take a close look at cognitive dissonance theorty, which I consider the most interesting and useful theory among psychological approaches to social psychology.
