Walkin' on Water, Just Like Jesus
Okay, not quite like Jesus... But we did go out on the lake, Lake Superior that is. There hasn't been any snow and the ice is really clear, so you can see down to the bottom! So people have been out there looling around and someone found a ship that no one knew about. They say it's been there at least 10 years (probably washed into shore) but they don't know which ship it is. You couldn't really see today becasue the weather wasn't so nice, but they cut a hole in the ice yesterday because a couple of divers went down to check it out, so we were able to lay on the ice and look down and see the ship. It was a little scarry lying onm the ice next to a hole, but it was neat to see. Obviously the ice must be thick enough because there were a hole bunch of people down there yesterday. The weather was kind of cool to, it was snowing and incredibly windy, so the snow was flying accross the ice.
In other news I have another job interview next Friday. It's at a company in Shoreview. I was also... already offered a job in Minneapolis. It pays pretty well and has pretty good benefits. The catch is they want me to decide by next Wednesday, before my interview. I was told when I interviewed for the position that I should take my time in deciding... so I'm gonna see if I can get a little more time to decide, but apparently I don't have to worry too much.

Lots of Goodness, I Guess.
So the results are in, I did alright on all my tests. Quite well on one, and reasonably well on the other two. I did about as well as I had hoped on my Chemistry test, but there was a huge curve (like 54 or something was a C!). So that's going well.
I was also nominated for student employee of the year. I didn't win, but apparently there was a bit of political B.S. Last year the winner and both runners up were from my department, so apparently everyone else had a hissy fit about it. So our manager told all the full-time employees (the people who make the nominations) that there pretty much wasn't any chance, but the should nominate people anyway, at least then they could put it on a resume or something. It's funny because I was joking with my room-mate the other day about how it was rigged, well apparently it was. I mean, the winner was a someone who works in the planetarium... I didn't even know they had anything for anyone to do. So anyway, if that's how it is, I guess it doesn't really matter.

More Tests
Okay, I had another test this morning, and I think it went a lot better than the last one. I was really worried about this one because although I seem to understand it all, the quizes we've had didn't go so well. But I think I did okay. The funny thing is I think I did better on the problems than the multiple choice part (which fortunately isn't worth nearly as much). Anyway, I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Water and Snow
We got our water back the other day, which is good. Now we have to keep it running until the ground thaws so it doesn't just freeze back up though... So we're going to rig the washer hookup to poor down the drain so we don't have to put up with it all winter.
I had a test yesterday that didn't go as well as I would have hoped, so hopefully I did a little better than I felt I did. I didn't too bad, but every bit counts. Maybe everyone did poorly and I'll have a really high score who knows. I'll just have to do better on the next one.
I was contacted already by one of the employeers I saw at the job fair, other than the one I had the interview with. So the job search seems to be going okay. And oh yeah, it's finally snowing.

Another Job Fair
I went to a job fair yesterday. It went pretty well. There were some decent places looking for people and a fair number of them said they'd get ahold of me. I filled out an applicaion and interviewed for another job. I might be crazy, but I'm pretty sure he said they were going to offer me a job... He was telling me how he'd go back and talk with his supervisor and write an offer. I figured this could all be hypithetical, but me told me it would come in a week or two and made a pretty big deal about taking my time to make a decition. So we'll see.
I also interviewed at the place where my roomate, Ryan, works. I haven't heard from them yet, so we'll see. I was a little worried about how much they'd offer to pay me, but know how much the other place would offer, so at least I can tell them that's about how much I expect to make.
In non-job related news, I have no water at my house. It's been so cold and there's no snow to insulate the ground, so th city thinks that the water meter is frozen. So hopefully it gets fixed soon, although they've apparently been working around the clock because a bigillion water mains have broken.

360?
Okay, things haven't completely turned around, but at least something is going a little better. It turns out that the school has some extra funding and is giving it to a few students who applied for a research project but were turned down due to a lack of funding. I.E. me. So now I get to do my UROP (which pays pretty well), it'll just mean more work. It's okay though, I have until June (maybe later) to finish. So if I get too busy with classes I can make up some of the research time in May. Hopefully this is a sign of better things to come. My room mate, Ryan, also informed me that his company was interested in at least talking to me about a job. It would be a good job, I'm just a little worried about the pay (because I have no idea how much they're willing to pay), but I'll just have to find out.
