Features = Expensive

So by now I'm sure everyone knows I have a new Jeep on my hands. I love it. It's just the right amount of car/suv that I need right now. I gets reasonable gas milage, I can tow a decent amount when I need to, have 4-wheel drive and let's face it, it's a Jeep (the best part). It has quite a few features that I've been enjoying, especially the heated seats!

One of the things that seems to impress people is the pressure gauge. Not only does it alert me when my tires are low, but it tells me the pressure of each tire. Now, pretty much everyone knows that as the temperature deceases, air compresses. I just never realized it was enough that you would have to add so much air to your tires in the winter.

So my Jeep has informed me three times since July that it has gotten cool enough that I need more air in my tires, a 3-5 psi change in pressure. So on Saturday I went to put some air in my tires so it would stop complaining to me. As I filled the first tire, the pump got stuck, so naturally I tried to gently wiggle it off... which apparently was a bad idea. It broke... and I could hear air leaking, fast.

I happened to be at a gas station that also had a garage, so I asked if it was something they could do right there. Nope, the valve stem is where the pressure sensor is, so they told me I'd have to take it into the dealer, and of course, it would be expensive. I drove home, and we put the spare on. Thankfully I have a full sized spare. I of course had to wait until Monday to call anyone, so I first call the garage in town that I go to and they said they could do it, but didn't know how much it would be until I brought it in. After that I thought to call the dealer, which turned out to be a good idea because they're going to cover it under my warranty.

So in the end it's not too bad. The funny thing is that the sensors are wireless, so it kept informing me that my tire was deflating in the back oh my Jeep.
