1) BeOS is crashing in the lab when I copy or write files. What can I do??

Well, we are having some problems with BeOS in the MWAH 177 and SBE 45 labs. The problems seem associated with writing large files to the BeOS file system. The problem is that BeOS crashes when you write large files in the BeOS file system. It does seem OK with writing files in in a mounted Windows file system, however. The workaround for right now is to mount the windows file system (right click on the desktop, go to "mount" and mount the windows file system), and do any writing to files there. This may or may not turn out to be much of a problem. I have given the ITSS system manager a BeOS installation with the RatCog 1.5 in it, so you should soon not even have to install RatCog in BeOS in these labs. With luck, this problem may not rear its head in the lab.
