About Me

I am currently a Graduate Instructor with the Writing Studies Department at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Additionally, I am a second year student in the Literary Studies track of the Master of Arts in English program. My primary academic interests include narrative prose fiction and its relationship to readers, intellectuals, and education, as well as foreign languages, literatures, and cultures.
After completing my M.A. in English, I hope to pursue a Ph.D. in literature. I would eventually like to teach in the English department of a small liberal arts college. My husband and I are currently applying to graduate schools across the country and are excited to see where this next chapter of our lives takes us.
I earned my B.A. in English (Pre-Graduate Studies, Information Design) in 2009 from the University of Minnesota Duluth cum laude and with departmental honors.
I live in a little apartment with my husband and our two slightly deranged cats. In my free time I enjoy knitting and swing or salsa dancing wherever I can find some music.
