(If you're actually reading this, you need to get out more often.)

Here's an aerial view of where I go to school in Duluth, Minnesota.

Who is Gary?

I'm a "non-traditional" (read: so old that I was around when rocks were soft) university student majoring in computer science, with minors in information design and math. When I'm not in class, I work on campus in the computer labs, and I'm also working an internship in computer security with Sandia National Laboratories. I was born and raised in Minnesota, but I also lived in Alaska for five years (check out my website on Prudhoe Bay) and started school up there before transferring back here.

What did Gary do before college?

I held a variety of jobs, such as school bus driver, part-time soldier, commercial vehicle enforcement officer, car salesman, and oilfield worker/crane operator. (Perhaps now it's obvious why I returned to school...) Anyway, you can view my resume here.

(You'll need Adobe Acrobat. If you don't have it, you can download a free viewer here.)

What does Gary do in his spare time?

Excuse me...did you say "spare time"?? With the little that I have, I enjoy downhill skiing, ice fishing, hiking, running, storm chasing, watching UMD hockey, guitar playing, driving aimlessly on backcountry highways for the fun of it, and just hanging out with friends. I'm also an active member of the Bridge Syndicate, and a not-so-active member of the Libertarian Party.

What are some of Gary's favorite things?

Here's a partial list - I'll add more as I think of them...seafood, Enya, fireworks, thin crust pizza, Stevie Ray Vaughan, mountains, espresso drinks, rollercoasters, Seattle, severe storms, trains, northern lights, BMW's, and that ominous-sounding 'THX' trailer they used to play at the beginning of a movie.

How do I contact Gary...you know, to show my appreciation and all?

You're too kind. The surest way to reach me is to send me an email. I normally check my email several times a day. (When I'm not out of town, anyway...)

Thanks for visiting!
