Research

The development of a computer controlled filament winder for the production of carbon fiber and other composite based tubes. This apparatus will be used to create carbon fiber tubes for the SAE race car project here at UMD as well as providing another lab component to the Materials Processing class.

Life

When given a choice of potato, I'll choose mashed. It's the fluffy texture, the salt and garlic, and the hint of sour cream that elevates my mouth to euphoria; however some restaurants can't get it right. So I ranked five restaurants in Duluth based on their mashed potatoes.

Note 1 is the best I've had and 5 is the worst.

1. Bennett's on the Lake
2. Blackwoods
3. The New Scenic Cafe
4. Red Lobster
5. Timberlodge
(Bad web compatibility as well)

What's Happening

3/16/05 - This past month was pretty busy with school. Recently I just completed a website for Web Design which used Flash. This is a pretty cool program to learn and is pretty easy to use once one figures it out.

Love

My beautiful wife Meg and I on our wedding day, October 4th, 2003. If the first year is the hardest, then I'm looking forward to the next 70.

Imagine being 90 years old and married to your first love. What is there left to talk about?

Oliver - Meg bought him from the animal shelter in Wisconsin. We couldn't have asked for a better dog. Summer sends our minds racing with memories of him cruising the beach on Superior tearing after the sand pipers or playing frisbee.

Yes he is still alive, he just lives with Meg's parents for now.

Nature

Allowing companies to pollute to save something as temporary as money seems so shortsighted, almost selfish. The car companies thought they would go bust when required to install seatbelts and they didn't. Hopefully the same is true for companies when faced with environmental restrictions.

Future

Where My Wife and I Plan to StudySchool: Hopefully Meg and I will be able to study in Sweden. We're just itching to experience somewhere other than the US. Lulea is a town about the size of Duluth. It has the northernmost university of technology in Scandinavia.

Employment: With a little luck I'll be working for a heavy equipment or agricultural manufacturer trying to integrate all of my studies to improve efficiency and the environment.
