A Design Scheme from
a "Memory of Earth"

Working in groups of three or four, create a design scheme for an character home page, based on one of the two characters who tell their stories in the excerpt from the novel Generation X (see the handout "Remember Earth Clearly").

This plan should be posted in a discussion in the Moodle forum "Design Schemes from Memories of Earth" as a series of messages. Someone from each group should post an initial message to create a new discussiuon.  Then all subsequent additions to the design-scheme plan should be posted as replies to that first message. 

The Design Scheme Plan
The design scheme should consist of

• the choice of a light or dark page (see an example of dark design)
  
  
• a list of two or three words that describe the tone (words from the passage or your own)
  
  
• a list of specific visual and verbal features that express that tone and suggest a theme
  
  
• at least two visual images (downloaded from the web, and inserted as visible images into the Moodle forum) that serve as examples of these features (for example, details of the banner, color scheme, etc).
  
  
• a caption for each image explaining what would be used from it in the design scheme
  
  
• a screen shot of a font that expresses the intended tone of the page (inserted as a visible image into the Moodle forum)
  
  
• a rough sketch on paper of the page design: which should include spaces for a banner, menu of links, and other typical personal home-page content (contact information, area for recent news, a quotation, etc.). This page should also contain the names of your group members.
