The Chancellor has asked that I remind you of the standard for high

temperature days. The guideline is 88 degrees Fahrenheit dry bulb

temperature (a measurement which takes into account heat, humidity, and

air movement.)

The options for Deans and Directors include relocation of the work to a

cooler environment, extended work breaks, or employees may be dismissed

for the rest of the work day.

If the Dean or Director is considering the dismissal option, the

appropriate Vice Chancellor must be consulted. Employees so dismissed

will not be required to use vacation time.
