Education 5415: Advanced
Educational Media Productions (4cr)
Focus: Design and development of an
individual or a group advanced media product.
*Prerequisite: 5412, 5413, or consent
of instructor*
Course Description: This course is the final
course in the Educational Computing & Technology Certificate. The
course addresses some of the International Society for Technology in
Education (ISTE) and NCATE standards and provides high-quality
computer technology education for students pursuing educational
excellence. Pre-requisites for this course are Educ 5412 and Educ
5413 (or consent of the instructor). Key topics include:
troubleshooting techniques for multimedia computer systems and
related peripheral devices and multimedia software; uses of
multimedia products as educational resources; equity, ethics, legal,
and human issues concerning use of multimedia, computers and
technology; design and creation of advanced media products utilizing
a variety of applications and peripherals; integration of digital
images and video into presentations; web site evaluation, design, and
publishing. Software Featured in this Course Include: iMovie,
QTVR:Quicktime Virtual Reality Software, Digital Sound Editing
Software, Flash, Fireworks, Inspiration, Clay Animation,
Macromedia
Dreamweaver and HTML program language.
