The major in exercise science at the University of Minnesota Duluth has three separate concentrations: athletic training, health fitness, or exercise and sport science. Each concentration has separate aims and objectives. The health fitness concentration is for students who will be prepared to be fitness professionals working in hospitals, heath & fitness clubs, and fitness agencies. The exercise and sport science concentration is for the student wanting preparation at the undergraduate level for graduate study in exercise science, physical therapy, pre-med, cardiac rehab and other health related areas. Majors in exercise and sport science concentration can also assume positions in the fitness industry.
