General Information
The course consists of the following two major components
- The 2 pm Friday sessions.
- The 3 pm Friday sessions.
The 2 pm Friday Sessions
These sessions include the following components
- Basics of written and oral reports with chemical content
- Career planning
- Written Report and Oral Presentation
- Each student will prepare a written report and oral presentation on
a topic related to chemistry or biochemistry/molecular biology, based
on a published article on original research. A list of topics with literature
references suggested by department faculty will be provided. You will
select and topic and consult with a faculty advisor in development of
your report and presentation. Oral presentations will be scheduled for
class meetings during the latter half of fall semester and, if necessary,
will continue into spring semester. For each presentation, each student
will complete an evaluation form.
The 3 pm Friday Sessions
Students will attend the weekly 3 pm seminar series offered by the Department
of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and will complete written evaluations of the
seminar presentations.
