PUBLIC HISTORY

I believe that my role as an educator extends far beyond the college classroom, and so I have sought opportunites to be involved in a variety of settings that allow me to bring my enthsuasim and expertise to a different audience.

MUSEUM CONSULTING

Member of the education programming and exhibit committees at the Richard I. Bong World War II Heritage Center, Superior WS.

  • Academic Adviser and Consultant for "Training Camps: Shared Experiences in WWII" - a temporary exhibit that will run from September 2007-August 2008, at the Richard I. Bong WWII Heritage Center.
  • Academic Adviser and Consultant for "Fighting Dollars: War Loan Drives in the Twin Ports" - a temporary exhibit running September 2005 - September, 2007, at the Richard I. Bong WWII Heritage Center.
  • Academic Adviser and Consultant for "Christmas on the Home Front" - a temporary exhibit running November 17, 2004 - January 31, 2005, at the Richard I. Bong WWII Heritage Center.

Member of the Glensheen Advisory Board.   Glensheen is a historic home museum owned and operated by the University of Minnesota.
