Objectives:

• Students will do art project which is culturally based
• Students will learn about the culture represented in the project

Materials:

• Mexico Activity Book, pp. 8-9
• Marty Noble, Mexican Folk Art: Coloring Book
• images from web to show different regions' art, Mexico's flag
• Globe/Map of Mexico
• Mexican music to play as students work

Activities:

• Students can create a Mexican flag
• Students can color reproductions of designs from different regions of Mexico
• Students describe their art work at the end, listing colors used
