Objectives:
- Students will understand a story read to them about a birthday gift for an animal
Materials:
- Daniel Barbot, Rosaura en bicicleta
- visuals for vocabulary (perro, gato, loro, canarios, tortuga, gallina, cumpleaños, bicicleta, ciudad, tiendas, casa, relojes, caja de música, maracas, tinajeros (potters/pottery), machetes, cuchillos, patines, anteojos, paquete, cinta roja)

Script:
M: Buenas tardes, clase. Hoy vamos a leer un cuento sobre una gallina que quiere una bicicleta para su cumpleaños. [Read story once. Change verbs to present tense; shorten as needed.] [Then, teach vocabulary and key words, using teacher chatter and passing out visuals.] [Then, read story again, and as you get to the different items, students can either hold up their visual, or move up front.]
