Objectives:
- Students will be able to identify a variety of animals and where they live: elefante, jirafa, cebra, rinocerante, hipopótamo, león, guepardo, colibrí, gallina, loro, guacamaya, pingüino, pelícano, tucán, quetzal, conejo, coyote, lemur, lobo marino, gorila, mono, murciélago, buho, camaleón, halcón, cóndor, hipopótamo, mosca, pulpo, abeja, águila, ardilla, cigüeña, gaviota, golondrina, mariposa, ballena, caballito de mar, langosta, lombriz, mantarraya, pavo real, serpiente (culebra), zorro, pollo, rana, coquí, reptiles, lagarto, cocodrilo, tortuga, iguana, tiburón, pez (peces); sabana, mar, finca, bosque tropical, árbol, desierto, montañas*
- Students will be able to say: "Es el...", "Vive en..."
- Students will be able to describe animals' movements: "Vuela", "Camina", "Nada", "Canta", "Corre" ; "Mueve rápidamente/lentamente"
- Students will be able to describe animals: "Es grande/pequeño, inteligente/lento, feroz/tímido, veloz/lento"
- Students will be able to understand animal anatomy terminology: cola, escamas, aletas, alas, ojos, orejas, picos, patas, cuerpo
- Students will understand: "Tiene"
- Students will be able to describe animals' colors
- Students will read about animals from different books and answer (in writing) prepared questions
- Students will write in complete sentences, practicing verb form: "El/Ellos..."
- Students will present information about their animals to the other students: Es el..., Tiene..., Es..., Vive..., Nada/Vuela/Camina/..., Come..., etc.
- Students will sort animals by which belong together
- Students will say what a group of animals has in common, using "ellos" verb form: Tienen..., Vuelan, ....
