Note: Tell students when they see the green frog “Sra. Rana” with the really big eyes and mouth, students need to be on task; eyes and mouth open. A frog says “ribbet, ribbet,” En español you’ll hear me say, “repíte, repítan.” That means, say what I say. When they see the red worm card, “Sr. Gusano”, who is too wormy and squiggly; everyone needs to be “at a stop” and cease all worminess; prepared for new instructions, ready to listen. GusaNO….no wiggling, no talking, just listen. Listen en español is “escucha, escuchen.”
M: (Showing green card/frog and wave) Hola!
M: (Bring out puppets) Hola Pepe!

Pepe – Hola, me llamo Pepe. ¿Cómo te llamas?
Rosita – Me llamo Rosita.
María – (aside) Grupo, se llama Pepe. Se llama Rosita. Me llamo María.

M: (Hold up an individual puppet each time) Se llama Pepe.
E: Se llama Pepe.
M: Se llama Rosita.

M: Vamos a jugar. Formemos un círculo y pasemos el balón. Note: this game works with name tags. (Teacher starts the game, passing the ball to the student on her/his side, saying, “Se llama….” TPR…point to student’s nametag as you say his/her name aloud. Motion for the student to do the same, saying “Pásalo.” If necessary prompt with “Cómo se llama?” or “Se llama…” Each student introduces his/her neighbor as he/she passes the ball. Reinforce “pásalo.” If there is time, repeat the game going the opposite direction.”
