Kindergarten: Script Topic 3 (Shapes/Numbers): Lesson Plan 5

I: Hola/Intro/Life savers (5 minutes) Use life savers to review counting and colors. How many red circles? How many green circles?
II: TPR-O: Grande/Pequeño (5-7 min) Demonstrate life savers are “circúlos pequeños,” contrast w/ un círculo grande. Review shape words, grande y pequeño. Animales, grande y pequeño.
III: Read aloud: La Oruga Muy Hambrienta (5-7 min) Rather then try to read the whole book, read select pages and have the students repeat key words:
- Beginning pages—“El huevecillo, es grande o pequeño?” “la oruga es muy pequeña”
- Monday – through Friday pages: have students count the pieces of fruit en español. ¿De qué color son las ciruelas? ¿Son círculos u óvalos?
- Ending of story... ahora la oruga no es pequeña, es muy grande. .. En fin, es una mariposa. ¿Es grande o pequeña, la mariposa?
Wrap up... pass out life savers for treats, if ok w/ classroom teacher.
