ELEMENTARY SPANISH CURRICULUM PROJECT

Second Grade

Topic: Foods (Solids/Liquids)

Objectives:

  1. Students will be able to identify specific foods: frutas, vegetales, carne, pescado, pollo, sopa, postre, agua, leche, queso, manzana, plátanos, uvas, sandía, durazno, cerezas, naranjas, fresas, peras, jalea, helado, pastel, cereal, huevos, pan, papas, jugo, café, chocolate.
  2. Students will understand that some foods are unique to the Spanish-speaking world, and some foods are like those eaten in Duluth.
  3. Students will recognize the difference between "comer" (to eat solids) and "tomar" (to eat liquids).
  4. Students will be able to say what foods they (don't) like to eat: "(No) Me gusta(n) ..."
