Here are other lessons that Julie worked up, which would work in a program which affords more time.
Parte 1
Objectives:
- Students will use all of the weather vocabulary.
- Students will research the weather in a certain Spanish-speaking city.
Materials:
- Weather chart
- Computer lab access
- Different cities
- Puppet
- Calendar
Activities:
- Conversation skills
- Research the weather in a spanish speaking city.
- Divide class into groups of 2, have them draw a city for them to look up.
- This day should be solely devoted to finding the information.
Script:
M: Buenos días, clase. Hoy es el [número] de [mes]. ¿Cómo están? E: Bien. M: Muy bien. Jessica, puedes preguntarle a Diego sobre el tiempo en Buenos Aires.
M: Hoy ustedes van a buscar el tiempo de una ciudad en Latinoamérica en grupos de dos. Voy a pasar las ciudades para cada grupo de dos. En el laboratorio de computadoras vamos a buscar juntos las ciudades. *
*Nota (Eileen Zeitz): Si no tienen acceso al laboratorio, pueden imprimir la información del día anterior, y comentar que vamos a fingir que es lo mismo para hoy.
Parte 2
Objectives:
- Students will write out their weather findings and practice their presentation.
- Students will use the functional chunks and new vocabulary to present a simple weather report.
- Students will show their country on map/globe.
Materials:
- Weather Chart
- Poster board material for presentation
- Cut outs of weather items
- Puppet
- Map/Globe
Activities:
- Conversation skills
- Create a poster for presentation (with name of city, type of weather and temperature)
- Find country on map/globe
- Practice presentation
Script:
M: Buenos días, clase. ¿Cómo están? E: Muy bien. M: Bueno. Yo estoy muy bien también. (Comentar el tiempo con Diego) Ahora uds pueden trabajar en su presentación. Si tienen preguntas, puedo ayudarles. (Los grupos tienen tiempo para preparar y practicar su presentación corta.)

Objectives:
- Students will relate what information they have learned about the weather to the class.
- Students will see where these cities are located on a world map.
Materials:
- Weather chart
- World map/Globe
- Puppet
Activities:
- Conversation skills
- Presentations
Script:
M: Buenos días, clase. ¿Cómo están? E: Bien. M: Bueno. Hoy tenemos los presentaciones del tiempo. Primero vamos a hacer el tiempo con Diego. (Hacer lo mismo de siempre.)
M: Ahora tenemos las presentaciones cortas. (presentaciónes) La clase ya terminó. Hasta el _____________. Hasta luego, clase. E: Adios.
