Here are other lessons that Julie worked up, which would work in a program which affords more time.
Parte 1
Objectives: (1)
- Students will hear and use the terms: el verano, la primavera, el invierno y el otoño.
- Students will learn/review particular months.
- Students will learn the differences in connections between months and seasons in northern and southern hemispheres.
Materials:
- Art material: red and white paper, for runners
- Photo: Northern and Southern Hemispheres, relation to sun (see Topic 8 Planets materials)
Activities:
- The classroom will be set up in four stations (1 per season).
- Each season will be paired with a corresponding holiday: el verano = San Fermín, la primavera= la pascua, el invierno= la navidad, el otoño= día de los muertos.
*Each day (Lesson 10-13) will consist of one station
- San Fermín: Students will make miniature runners in the appropriate festival attire. This will also serve as a refresher on the colors white and red. The fiesta de San Fermín is an event in Pamplona, España in July.
- [La Pascua: Students will make tissue paper flowers. This can also be used to refresh color vocabulary. The only materials needed are colored tissue paper and pipe cleaners. (Lesson 11)
- La Navidad: Students will make shoes of any color out of construction paper. The shoes are a tradition for Día de San Nicolás, which falls in December. (Lesson 12)
- Día de los Muertos: Students will each receive a picture of an esqueleto which they can color. They also will be asked to label the different parts of the body. (To do this, students should review the basic body parts from their previous years of lessons. The basic parts of the body will be asked only... such as cabeza, piernas, hombros, manos, etc.) (Lesson 13)]

- Students will recognize months: marzo, abril.
Materials:
- Art material: tissue paper, pipe cleaners.
Activities:
- The classroom will be set up in four stations (1 per season).
- Each season will be paired with a corresponding holiday: el verano = San Fermín, la primavera= la pascua, el invierno= la navidad, el otoño= día de los muertos.
- La Pascua: Students will make tissue paper flowers. This can also be used to refresh color vocabulary. The only materials needed are colored tissue paper and pipe cleaners.

- Students will recognize month: diciembre.
Materials:
- Art material: construction paper
Activities:
- The classroom will be set up in four stations (1 per season).
- Each season will be paired with a corresponding holiday: el verano = San Fermín, la primavera= la pascua, el invierno= la navidad, el otoño= día de los muertos.
- La Navidad: Students will make shoes of any color out of construction paper. The shoes are a tradition for Día de San Nicolás, which falls in December.

Materials:
- Art material: crayons/markers
- Sheet: esqueleto
