How to create Spanish characters(accents, tilde, etc.) on the PC, using Word:

Put insertion point where the character is needed, then use the Symbol palette or shortcut keys, as outlined below.


1. Go to the Insert menu and select Symbol... In the Symbol palette, select (normal text) from the Font pull-down menu.

2. Double-click on the desired character. You can leave the Symbol palette open for easy access.

 

1. Hold down the ctrl key in Windows and press apostrophe or tilde, as needed; release both keys.

2. Release both keys and then immediately type the letter.

 

II. Using Word

1. Open "Help"

2. Type in "Accent".

3. Open "Insert an International Character...."

4. Follow directions.
