My Master’s thesis is under
Dr.Carolyn Crouch and it is done under a Research group that is a participant of
INEX
( INitiative for the Evaluation of XML) workshop. It deals with Flexible Retrieval from structured XML documents using a Retrieval Engine known as “Smart”.
Flexible Retrieval aims at retrieving elements of documents at the granular level such as paragraphs, subsections, sections and articles. The aim is to maintain a single index for paragraphs and generate vectors for internal nodes by merging the child nodes
and calculating a relevance score for the internal nodes, and make these results closer to the all element index results.
