Chester Park is one of Duluth's finest assets with downhill, glad woods, and cross country skiing; hiking trails; a speed skating rink and ski jumps. The park also provides hiking and cross country ski trails which surround Chester Creek and allow users to view the great variety of plant and animal life. Among the plants are the Hazelnut flowers, which bloom in late April to May, and the Dwarf Horsetail, a primitive plant found in several varieties along the trail.
