Brief Biography

Haiyang Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Minnesota Duluth, MN, USA. He received his PhD from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby (Metro-Vancouver), British Columbia, Canada, in 2013 (Advisor: Dr. Jiangchuan Liu). He was in the development team of China's first IPv6/IPv4 dual-stack core router (BitEngine 12000 Series) and RFC 5747: 4over6 Transit Solution Using IP Encapsulation and MP-BGP Extensions. He is a recipient of the Chinese Government Scholarship for Outstanding Self-financed Students Studying Aboard (2012).

His research interests are in networking, in particular, cloud computing, big data, socialized content sharing, multimedia communications, peer-to-peer networks, and distributed computing.
