REHEARSE PLATFORM CONNECTIONS
Students had varieties of connections to internet services. Several students from Crookston were connected to the campus server from home but to various other servers from their homes and businesses. A different system was in place at Southwest State Unversity. Other students were connected to commerical services, while others had "local" rural connections.
We decided that it would be necessary to test e-mail connections among students with the following services: starpoint.net, mes.umn.edu, me.cc.mn.us, northernnet.com, prodigy.com, d.umn.edu. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT STUDENTS WERE SERVED IN THEIR OWN HOMES AND WORKPLACES.
We added the e-mail and phone connections for faculty and peer mentor to the list and tested everything.
In addition, we brought a PC configuration and a Mac configuration into the Library ITV room to test our demonstration for the chats which were accessed via the course outline during the time the course was running.
