Principle 9:

Professional growth/reflection
The teacher is a reflective practitioner who continually evaluates the effects of his or her choices and actions on others (students, parents, and other professionals in the learning community) and who actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally.

Example: Lesson Evaluations
An effective teacher most be constantly honing their craft.  One big part of this process
is an effective analysis of lessons.  What went right? What could have been improved?
These are things which should be asked after every lesson.  Sometimes this is internal
but for beginning teachers it should be written down.

Example: Observing other teachers
Sometimes, perhaps many times, the best ideas come from someone else.  Teachers should
take advantage of chances to see one another in action.  Here are some examples of
some of my observations of other teachers.

Example: Formal Evaluation by Another Teacher

It is difficult to see ourselves objectively.  Sometimes after one observaion a fellow teacher
can notice something that has gone unseen.  Here are some examples of another teacher
observing me.
