About the Workshop Series:

This semester our CEHSP/ITSS workshop series will:

focus on using learning management system (LMS) (specifically Moodle and WebVista) to enhance teaching and learning in face-to-face, hybrid and fully online classes.
be offered in 2-hour long sessions, every other week, providing instruction and hands-on learning experience implementing what you have learned.
be offered as a series all focused on how to teach using Moodle and WebVista. You can attend the entire series or pick and choose based on the topic and and your needs.
will be repeated so that the same workshop will be offered one week on a Thursday, and then repeated the following week on a Friday
when appropriate (given the nature of the activities that week):
- be broadcast over UMConnect so that you can participate online from a distance
- recorded so that you can view later online via UMConnect

What to do in order to participate:

Although you are welcome to drop in to any/all workshops without signing up or doing anything in advance, the following are recommended in order for you to be able to participate fully in the workshops:

Sign up ahead of time for a development account in either Moodle or WebVista (whichever you prefer). Each workshop we will be doing hands-on practice applying what you learn. Even if you already have a course in Moodle or WebVista, we recommend that you also have a development account so that you can practice and experiment during the workshop without fear of messing up something you have created in a "real" course.
Register a day (or more) ahead of time for the workshop by sending an email to Helen Mongan-Rallis at hrallis@d.umn.edu indicating which workshop you plan to attend.
Although we will provide laptops to anyone who needs them, you may prefer to bring your own laptop.
