FIELD TRIPS

During the year, the programme will take you on three or four field trips each semester to sites around Great Britain of historical and cultural importance. Participation in the field trips by all students is expected. In fact, your professors have planned some assignments for these classes related to the spots we will visit. Your programme fees cover the costs of travel and housing and some admissions fees on field trips; you may be asked to pay some admissions fees for special events, museum entrances, etc. We will keep those extra costs to a minimum.

If you do not accompany the group on a trip and you have not made prior arrangements with the Director to be excused, you WILL be responsible for reimbursing the programme for any costs already incurred on your behalf. (We often must pay for overnight reservations and group admissions in advance, for example.)

We have a lot of fun on field trips and learn a lot too. Everyone will be more comfortable if we conform to a few simple rules. Our coaches will be smoke-free, and alcoholic beverages will not be permitted. When we stay overnight, we will be in youth hostels and will abide by their curfews and other rules. When we travel as a group, we'll try to make a good impression.
