REGISTRATION AND STUDENT STATUSThe registration process for students in the Study in England Programme is different from the regular process at UMD. Students' registrations will be processed each semester initially for one course number based on the total number of credits the students anticipates carrying that semester. This type of registration allows for the securing of financial aid and confirms the placement of our student participants as full-time students at UMD. Students will be asked to sign a contract, and based on the number of credits indicated, programme staff will register students. Approximately one month after the academic program begins, you will be required to finalize your course registration for the semester. This registration will replace the original one; after this point, there will be no drop/adds allowed. Students whose names should be listed on the dean's list, should contact the student affairs office of their collegiate unit. Due to many factors, including distance, there is the potential that the grade reports from England may not reach campus in time for computing eligibility of the academic unit's dean's list for the semester. REGISTRATION FOR FALL 2004Registration materials will be sent to those students wishing to register for UMD fall semester 2004 classes. This information will also be available on the web. The Programme Director will assist with dispersing materials and advising students. Students can also contact their collegiate student affairs office as well as their adviser via e-mail for additional assistance in advising. Students will be responsible for processing their registrations over the web during their assigned queue time. For UMD students wishing to transfer to a different UMD college or to other University of Minnesota campuses, a Change in Program form must be processed. This form is available on the web at http://www.onestop.umn.edu/registrar/majors/change_colleges.html. Typically the deadline for processing a Change in Program form for the following fall semester is mid-March, although students should check with the College they intend to enter for precise details. Students intending to transfer to an institution outside the University
of Minnesota system should familiarize themselves with that particular
institution's transfer and admittance policies. |
