We keep track of the temperature inside the electronics enclosure of the buoy; you can see here that it tracks air temperature fairly closely.

The buoy is powered by two large batteries (sort of like car batteries) which are continuously charged by three solar panels. Here you can see the daily cycle of the battery voltage- during the day, the batteries sit at a fairly high voltage; at night they "relax" down to a more natural level, and slowly drain.
