Relative to several other regions in England and Wales, there are fewer elevations in the Peak District which deserve to be called "peaks." It does have its attractions, though.  The gritstone tors (rocky outcrops ...) and the highly eroded blanket bogs on the top of ridge of the Edale Moor are interesting features.  On a good day the Mam Tor area attracts many paragliders.  And on a good day all the hill trails will be swarming with people from Manchester and Sheffield (between which this area lies) and other parts of England. We drove to the little town of Edale, but it is easy to reach by train from Brum.
