Question 1

1. Describe how the process evolution can be studied using experimental techniques (1 paragraph).

2. Give an example of an experiment you learned about in class that that tests an evolutionary hypothesis (1 paragraph). Please include:

· the hypothesis being tested

· the methods used to test the hypothesis

· what was learned in the study

1. Describe how molecular phylogenies can be used to test hypotheses about phenotypic trait evolution (1 paragraph).

2. Describe in detail one example that you learned about in class illustrate your point in Part a (1 paragraph). Please include:

· the traits that were studied

· the hypothesis being tested

· what was learned in the study
