Advising Information Joanne Itami is an Academic Advisor for the Swenson College of Science and Engineering. Office hours are 8:00 am to 4:30pm in 251SSB (Tu, Th) and 140 ENGR ( M, W, F). You can stopby for a walk-in appointment or you can email to arrange a specific appointment time. All incoming Department of Biology freshman must meet with me before registering for classes. The three week advising period begins one week before the beginning of the registration queue. You should come prepared to your advising appointment with a graduation planner completed for at least the first 2 years of your program of study. We will go over the semester by semester plan and a review your planner APAS. Appointments: check you UMD email for instructions for online signup for appointments. Graduation Planner is located at plan.umn.edu There is a quick start explanation for Graduation Planner on the page also you can stop by the Knowledge Manangement Center for help Solon Campus Center, Room 42 for help. Joanne Itami is a research professor in the Biology Department at University of Minnesota Duluth. Current research in collaboration with Tim Craig, centers on evolutionary ecology and behavior of herbivore populations and their host plants. Projects include measuring allozyme, behavior, and morphological variation among host races and subspecies populations of Eurosta solidaginis on two species of Goldenrod Solidago altissima and S. gigantea and the subspecies of Solidago altissima: S. a. altissima and S. a. gilvocanescens. |
