Class Policies and Expectations
- The final project is due on the last day
of this semester. Failure of zip disks, of printers to print, or any
other technological problems will not be accepted as excuses for late
work.
- There will be NO INCOMPLETE in this class
unless you are in unusual or extenuating circumstances (such as illness
with a doctor's note, health problem, family, & university
business). Unless the circumstances are quite extraordinary, you must
receive advance permission from the instructor. Assignments should
follow all directions and required specifications precisely.
- Find software for this class from the Resources site. When you want to work at home, you may need some of the software.
- Unless otherwise stated, turn all of your assignments through the Moodle electronically. From the moment when you start this course, there is no more printing-out. And you can enjoy using technology.
- Email is the best way to reach me outside
of class time and office hours. I make every attempt to check it often
M-F between midnight to 1AM, and will answer you as soon as I possibly
can.
- Prepare yourself thoroughly for class
sessions by doing the necessary outside work and readings. All readings
and assignments will be posted on the course web site. It is your
responsibility to check the site each section for updates and to link to
readings and assignments. You should expect to be doing a minimum of
four hours of lab work and readings outside of class for each section in
order to be able to accomplish the quality and level of work required
for the course.
- My contract calls for me to spend my time
not only in teaching activities (giving lectures, preparing for
lectures, working with students, advising students, reading to keep
current, grading assignments and exams, etc.) but also in conducting
academic research and committee meetings. Please understand if I am not
available for you every minute during the week. I must meet all of my
teaching responsibilities as well as the obligations to my other
constituents. Please find me during my office hours or schedule with me
by email.
- Participate fully in class activities and discussions.
- Work cooperatively & effectively with others in class & on group assignments.
- Most of all, Have FUN! :)
