is based on performance on written tests and laboratory reports unless
you do not adhere to the listed CLASS POLICIES#5 Classroom Behaviors. 70% TESTS: 4 written tests, 3 counting 18% and 1 counting
16%. They will be objective and short answer/essay covering course reading

covered early in the course will be used to understand material presented
in successive units. This is due to the integrative nature of physiology.
See class schedule for tests dates. 20% LAB PARTICIPATION

which you have registered. LABS MISSED CANNOT BE MADE UP UNLESS YOU CAN ARRANGE FOR OTHER STUDENTS
IN YOUR GROUP TO MEET WITH YOU AND RECOLLECT DATA. IF YOU MISS A LAB
AND USE DATA COLLECTED BY OTHER STUDENTS, THEN YOU CAN RECEIVE AT MOST,
50% OF THE POSSIBLE POINTS FOR THAT LAB. IN ORDER TO MAKE UP A LAB,
YOU MUST MISS BECAUSE OF AN EXCUSED ABSENCE. STUDENTS WILL BE GRANTED
NO MORE THAN 2 EXCUSED LAB ABSENCES FOR THE SEMESTER. EXCUSED ABSENCE: to receive an excused absence for illness, personal
emergency, or university sponsored travel, you must notify the instructor
via voice mail or via email. The notification must be received prior
to the start of class that you are going to miss. Voice mail notification:
must be left at 726-8531 ;email notification:
must be sent to jkeener@d.umn.edu from your university email account.
Exceptions to this policy are rarely recognized and are granted only
at the prerogative of the instructor. Each lab will be accompanied by a set of instructions on how
prepare the report for that lab. Lab reports are evaluated to determine
the laboratory portion of your grade. These reports must be (1) original work performed and constructed
by the submitting student (2) typed or word processed (3) prepared in a professional manner
including spelling, grammar, sentence structure (4) turned in at the specified date
and time 10% * COMPREHENSIVE FINAL EXAMINATION:

where you can earn a 2% grade bonus on your final grade. For example,
if you ended up earning a 88% in the course
which is a B+ and you participated as a subject in the instructor approved
study, a 2% bonus will be added to the 88% which then becomes 90% or
an A- final grade in the course. It is your responsibility to check
