Ticka Ticka Time Management

All I ever did was do, do, do. I forgot to stop and have fun. Although I did find time for friends and even a long distance relationship, I got so caught up in trying to get things done that my mental cool was always on a low boil. I was a bulimic-education-freak. I would binge on my homework and studies while pushing relaxation and fun to the wayside. When I finally came to my insanity breaking point, there was nothing I could do but vege out and chill. In other words, sleep 18 hours. But once I took my hiatus, procrastinating caught up with me and started the ugly cycle of “all work and no play make Jack a dull boy” all over again. If I could do anything differently in my first year, I wouldn’t do, and if I did do, I would manage my do’s to do.

If there's one thing that I would do differently in college, it would be to manage my time differently. When I got to college, I found that I had a lot of time on my hands. I could watch TV until one in the morning with no one telling me to turn off the television. But, as the semester progressed, I found that I was spending too much time doing things other than my school work. So I had to try and catch up. Then I started to think about managing my time better. I thought of some steps that would help me in managing my time better.
1. Get a planner. It will help me to remember to do my school work and then I have places to write down other appointments and reminders.
2.Have a job, but don't have too many hours that it interferes with your time to do school work. I have a job and I was working 20 hour weeks. That didn't work too well, so I had to cut back in my hours to make time to do work.
3.If you choose to party, but don't party too much. Leave time before you go out to do school work. If you can't get your work done and need more time, do not go out. It really doesn't work to get up 2 hours before your first class, hung over, trying to get your homework done for that class. It really doesn't work.
Those are my tips on time management. It worked for me. Go here to help yourself.
